Solar Innovations Raises $4,500 for Local Non-Profit Organizations

Solar Innovations Architectural Glazing Systems proudly raised $4,500 to be split among five local non-profit organizations in Schuylkill County during its 2018 second quarter Solar Cares campaign.

The Solar Cares campaign was created to dedicate extra time and effort into giving back to the surrounding communities. This quarter, money was raised by 68% of the office team members with $900 being donated to each of the following organizations: Tremont Area Food Pantry, Operation Hugs and Kisses, Tremont Little League Baseball Inc., Sweet Arrow Lake Conservation Association, and Pine Grove Area Youth Soccer Association. Including team member donations, Solar Innovations ® was able to donate a total of $4,500 between the five local organizations.

The Tremont Area Food Pantry is a supplemental food pantry that assembles on the third Saturday of even months from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Tremont Borough Municipal Building. The pantry is part of the Schuylkill Food Network and works with 17 other food pantries in the county to provide food for all area residents that may find themselves in need.

Operation Hugs and Kisses is a non-profit volunteer organization that is committed to helping out the Pine Grove community. By lending financial, moral, and motivational support to local businesses and organizations, Operation Hugs and Kisses is able to provide service to anyone in need. Founded in February 2010, the program meets on the first Monday of every month at 7 Mill Race Avenue in Pine Grove.

Incorporated in the Tremont area over 30 years ago, Tremont Little League Baseball Inc. averages between 60 and 70 kids per season. With ages participating from ages 4 and up, the team works hard every season to get the community involved with sports. For more information on the teams, contact President James Shibely at (570) 449-3123.

Sweet Arrow Lake is a scenic park where people can go hiking, boating, picnicking, and fishing right in Schuylkill County. The Sweet Arrow Lake Conservation Association works to ensure that future generations are able to enjoy the scenery by working to preserve the natural environment, history, and wildlife in the area. The lake is one of only a few of Schuylkill County's flat-water recreation areas. For more information, contact SALCA at (717) 345-8952.

The Solar Cares campaign launched in October of 2015. In less than three years, Solar Cares has raised over $30,000 in monetary donations plus a variety of supplies such as toys, coats, non-perishable food items, pet supplies, and cleaning supplies, and continues to hold company-wide fundraisers every quarter.
