Tigo, pioneer of the Smart Modular Flex MLPE platform, announced that Babu Jain joined the company and will assume the position of Chief Operating Officer. As the newest Tigo executive member, Babu is responsible for leading software, hardware, and worldwide operations from Tigo’s headquarters in Los Gatos, CA.
“Babu’s past leadership experience in the solar optimization and semiconductor markets made him the most compelling contribution to our executive team,” said Zvi Alon, CEO of Tigo. “His impressive business acumen here in Silicon Valley and internationally fits well with Tigo’s success as a leading MLPE provider worldwide.”
Babu comes to Tigo with more than 25 years of experience as vice president or more senior positions throughout Silicon Valley and overseas - including Partner of the Venture Fund Corporation at Seattle, Washington. Babu is currently an Entrepreneur in Residence for the CoMotion at the University of Washington where he mentors innovative startup tech companies in early-stage development. Most recently, he was Founder & CEO of NavSemi Energy for 9 years, a solar energy maximizer company, while successfully leading the company to acquisition by Alpha Technologies. Babu has also held various engineering leadership positions at Teradyne, Centillium Communications, and Infineon Technologies. Babu holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from BITS Pilani India and a MBA from SUNY Buffalo.
