Inergy Expands into New Headquarters as Mission and Technologies Expand

Inergy-the Pocatello-based renewable energy company that brings affordable power to the world-is moving into a new global headquarters dedicated to growing production of its next generation of energy storage systems. Inergy's new facility, located at 880 N 5th Avenue in Pocatello, will allow the fast-growing tech company to expand its mission to help people around the world improve their lot in life through affordable, renewable energy.

The new office will house the company's sales, marketing and administration functions. More importantly, the new facility provides ample room for Inergy's world-class engineering team to research, design, prototype and test the growing company's award-winning products. "This investment will have a direct, positive impact on Inergy's development. It is important to help promising young tech ventures grow into a full-scale manufacturing companies," said Scott Smith, Chair of the Pocatello Development Authority.

Inergy designs and manufactures the world's smartest, portable 'plug-and-play' energy storage solutions-ideal for portable on- and off-grid power needs. The company's bottom-up consumer approach to clean tech products makes renewable power available to everyone, everywhere. Inergy's power systems are typically half the weight and size, but are priced similarly to competitors, giving it a substantial market advantage.

Inergy was founded in 2014 with two employees and has been an entrepreneurial force ever since. The company won 1st Place at Google's Startup Grind Pitch Event and was a finalist for the Consumer Product & Early-Stage Innovation of the Year at the Idaho Innovation Awards. Inergy received the Idaho GEM grant for research and development and has won multiple awards in the innovation and technology sector. On the national stage, Inergy was selected as the Rocky Mountain Region representative in the Cleantech Open, the oldest and largest clean technology startup accelerator in the world, and won the national award in the Energy Generation category, beating out several well-known tech brands.

"Our innovations are revolutionizing the industry and will provide access to electric power in locations where it has never been," said Brad Barrott, Founder and Chairman of Inergy. "To complete that mission, we need space to grow."

The Pocatello Development Authority assisted the expansion by providing $25,000 of building improvements to help Inergy create new product lines that will help even more people get more out of life. The project will also create at least 10 new jobs in addition to the 18 employees Inergy already employs in its Chubbuck facility. Mayor of Pocatello, Brian Blad said "I am glad that we can help a technology company develop its market for innovative, new products. This is the kind of growth we are looking for."

The company's leadership is looking forward to the future potential that comes with the move.

"Power is life. It is the engine that drives human improvement and progress. Our integration of software technology, advanced manufacturing techniques, and industry-leading designs create high-performance power systems at a fraction of the size and weight of existing solutions," said Sean Luangrath, CEO, Inergy. "This move, and the support of the local community, expands our ability to give power for life to every human being on Earth regardless of their circumstances, and most importantly, the opportunity to progress and improve their lives."
