Robert J. Munnelly, Jr. Re-elected to Northeast Energy and Commerce Association Board of Directors

Robert J. Munnelly, Jr., a shareholder in the regulatory and administrative law area at Davis, Malm, & D'Agostine, P.C., has been re-elected to the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association, Inc. (NECA) Board of Directors for 2018. As a NECA director, Mr. Munnelly will continue to help advance the association's mission through new member outreach and by educating the Board and its 1,250-person membership on commercial and regulatory developments in the competitive retail electric and gas markets across New England. Mr. Munnelly has been actively involved in NECA since 2001 and will continue to serve as Co-Chair of the NECA's Retail Markets Committee, a position he has held since 2014.

Mr. Munnelly brings to NECA his extensive experience with legal, regulatory, and local taxation issues faced by energy, cable television, telecommunications companies in New England and nationally, as well as other regulated industries. He served as Assistant Attorney General in the Administrative Law Division of the Government Bureau of the Massachusetts Office of Attorney General where he represented state agencies in trial court actions and appeals. Mr. Munnelly was also Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for the New England Cable and Telecommunications Association, where he served as strategist and counsel in all six New England states. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the New England Chapter of the Federal Communications Bar Association.

Mr. Munnelly is a frequent panelist at information security and privacy, energy and communications conferences, seminars, and events.  He is also a co-author of the 2015 Lexis-Nexis treatise on Massachusetts Administrative Law and Practice, and a co-author of the information security and privacy chapter in the forthcoming Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education "Hanging Your Shingle" treatise for solo and small firm practitioners.
