sonnen Names Brent Stayer as U.S. Vice President of Operations & Quality Control

sonnen, the global market leader in intelligent residential energy storage, announced that Brent Stayer, former quality engineering leader of residential systems at Lutron Electronics Company, will join sonnen as U.S. Vice President of Operations & Quality Control, effective immediately.

This announcement arrives on the heels of the Company's decision to open a new manufacturing, R&D and product design facility under one roof in Atlanta, Georgia. The appointment of a widely-recognized operational leader to head this InnovationHub reflects the Company's continued commitment to sound organizational infrastructure in serving the growing North American clean energy market, as well as its focus on long-term, high-quality product innovation.

Stayer brings to the sonnen team more than 30 years of experience in quality engineering and leadership supervision, regulatory compliance and interpretation, as well as extensive test and analytical laboratory experience within the global electronics industry. During his time at Lutron, Stayer was instrumental in building the world-renowned Lutron Quality Engineering Lab as well as establishing operational processes for Lutron production facilities. During this time, he oversaw a team that performed new product and certification testing on 50-70 new products per year and hundreds of verification test plans to enhance and improve commercialized products.

"Lutron products are renowned for world class quality and attention to detail. Lutron's quality assurance processes, both in new product development and in manufacturing, are second to none in the lighting industry. Brent Stayerhas been a keystone leader of this tradition of excellence at Lutron for 20 years. My former career at Lutron benefited immensely from Brent's outstanding work," said Blake Richetta, Senior Vice President and leader of the Company's U.S. presence. "This understanding of how to conceive and implement processes surrounding manufacturing and product development will spur sonnen's growth, especially during the upcoming opening of our new Atlanta facility. The energy storage market in the U.S. is extremely fertile right now and I am confident Brent's experience and passion for excellence and innovation will help sonnen continue its mission to offer the best possible products and experience for consumers."

Stayer's experience in creating efficient precision production lines and successful, high-output factories will be extremely valuable in sonnen's efforts to scale in the rapidly growing U.S. market. In his new role, Stayer will head production operations and quality engineering at sonnen's new InnovationHub in Georgia, while overseeing the manufacturing and distribution of sonnenBatteries, the highest quality residential home energy storage systems available in the global market today. Under his guidance, the sonnen team will continue to ramp up production to meet growing demand from consumers, utilities and homebuilders, and achieve the company's mission of clean and reliable energy for all.

"I am excited to join the sonnen team at this critical juncture in the Company's history, specifically its expansion into the high-growth U.S. residential energy storage market," said Brent Stayer, new U.S. Vice President of Operations and Quality Control. "I look forward to working alongside an experienced and innovative team in a combined effort to firmly entrench sonnen as the premier energy services provider, not only in the United States, but throughout the rest of the world."
