PCI Completes Solar Project for City of Georgetown, Texas

PCI solar is happy to announce the completion of a solar array atop the City of Georgetown's new Westside Service Center.

PCI won the project through a competitive bid process released by the city in late 2016. This project is the first of many planned solar projects for Georgetown's publicly owned buildings, bringing the city closer to their goal of being powered by 100% renewable energy. The city has previously stated that the drive for renewable energy is motivated by a need to receive a competitive rate and reduce the risk of their consumers.

The project consisted of 468 Hanwha QCell solar panels that were flush mounted to the standing seam roof using clips that did not penetrate the structure. The DC electricity produced by the panels on the roof is fed into Sungrow and Solectria inverters to convert the power to AC.
