Madden Bolt Corporation Elevates Quality Standards in Steel Fabrication with AISC Certification

Following a year of planning and preparation, Madden Bolt Corporation earned its AISC certification, further demonstrating its commitment to delivering quality steel products to the different customers it serves within the transportation, construction, oil and gas, and telecommunications industries. This is another long-awaited milestone for the Houston-based steel fabricator which achieved its Associate status with the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) in October of 2015.

Customers directly benefit from Madden Bolt's alignment with AISC certification requirements. From a contractual perspective, the certification requires Madden Bolt to implement effective procedures that safeguard the specifications and agreements within customer contracts, including a system that would resolve discrepancies or deviations from contract requirements. Madden is also required to ensure that material ordered complies with design and drafting specifications and that the materials are inspected to meet ASTM standards.

"Only half of the steel fabricators in our category have their certification, so this will provide our customers with even more confidence in choosing Madden Bolt for their steel products and services," said Madden Bolt's QA/QC Manager, Michael Devience.

The six-month certification process comprised reviews of everything from corrective action and non-conformance reporting to welding procedures and employee training. It ended with a two-day procedural audit, performed August 30th and 31st, 2016, with Madden Bolt meeting standards and acquiring certification.

The certification comes on the heels of Madden's enhanced operational improvement measures. The Company recently debuted a new operational workflow to generate faster lead times for order fulfillment.
