Legrand's Vantage Controls Hosts NEMA Industry Roundtable with Utah Governor Gary Herbert

On October 10, 2016, Vantage Controls, a Legrand brand and leading manufacturer of lighting control systems, hosted a National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) industry roundtable with Utah Governor Gary Herbert at its new facilities in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Vantage Controls is a global brand with deep roots in Utah, having been founded in the state 30 years ago. Many of its most popular products today were designed and manufactured in Utah, such as Equinox LCD touchscreen controls. It's new offices in Pleasant Grove feature many energy efficient features; a core value of Legrand. The lighting power density in the new facility is 30% below current Utah code requirements and was achieved by installing energy efficient LED lighting and fine tuning lighting levels for each specific zone, room, and area of the building.

The roundtable discussion focused on the current and future state of the electrical manufacturing industry in Utah. Participants shared their success stories and pledged their support to help advance Gov. Herbert's efforts to prepare and train Utah's future workforce, increase market access, and grow a diverse energy portfolio.

In addition to Governor Herbert, representatives from various NEMA member companies were in attendance, including Acuity Brands, Cerro Wire, Schneider Electric and Siemens. Additional participants included representatives from the American Chemistry Council, Huntsman Corp. and Rio Tinto Kennecott. The roundtable was facilitated by NEMA President and CEO, Kevin J. Cosgriff.

"We commend Governor Herbert for his leadership moving Utah forward as a center for advanced manufacturing," said Kevin J. Cosgriff, NEMA President and CEO. "The electrical manufacturing industry is experiencing growth in exciting new areas, and local opportunities will continue to develop with his ongoing support."

"We are honored to host Governor Herbert and NEMA at our new facility and look forward to further engagement with industry leaders, influential policy makers, and our manufacturing peers on a variety of important topics that impact our industry and the great state of Utah," said Tom Lowery, President, Building Control Systems, Legrand.
