SubTER and FORGE: Getting the Word Out

The Geothermal Technologies Office's (GTO) Subsurface Technology and Engineering Research, Development, and Demonstration (SubTER) Crosscut and Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy (FORGE) initiatives have been featured in the latest issue of the National Science Foundation's (NSF) EAR to the Ground quarterly newsletter!

While GTO is focused on developing and deploying a portfolio of innovative technologies for clean, domestic geothermal power generation, NSF's Division of Earth Science (EAR) supports research that improves our understanding of the structure, composition, and evolution of the Earth, the life it supports, and processes that govern the formation and behavior of the Earth's materials.

Collaboration between sister agencies U.S. Department of Energy and NSF helps amplify the progress of geothermal energy R&D and promotes opportunities within the geoscience community.
