Hannah Solar Government Services Installs First Solar Array for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

North Charleston, SC based Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) recently installed the first solar photovoltaic (PV) system ever constructed nationwide for any facilities of the CDC.  The CDC is the leading national public health institute of the United States. The CDC is a federal agency under the Department of Health and Human Services and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.  Its main goal is to protect public health and safety through the control and prevention of disease, injury, and disability.

The CDC contracted HSGS to install the PV system at the Visitor’s Center and Museum at the CDC’s Roybal Campus in Atlanta, GA. The system delivers 9.4 kW DC of clean power to the campus and was custom designed to sit atop an existing walkway that leads to the entrance of the Visitor’s Center.  This marks the first step in a commitment of the CDC to bring renewable energy to their facilities nationwide.

“We are Veterans continuing to serve our country by providing energy security for America” said Dave McNeil, CEO of Hannah Solar Government Services.
