Greenskies Closes $25 Million Solar Deal with United Bank

Greenskies has partnered with United Bank of Glastonbury, Connecticut, to create a $25 million renewable energy fund that will be used to finance large commercial solar projects in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, said Michael Silvestrini, Greenskies’ president and co-founder.

United Bank, which merged with Rockville Bank on April 30, 2014, has approximately $5.0 billion in assets and is one of the largest publically traded banks headquartered in New England (as measured by asset size) with over 50 branch offices throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut as well as commercial and mortgage Loan Production Offices covering various markets in both states.

Greenskies designs, builds and maintains solar photovoltaic systems for corporate clients, municipalities and government agencies, educational institutions and utilities. The company currently has over 60 solar installations online plus an additional 100 solar projects in various stages of development throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic States. Solar installations designed and built by Greenskies have now produced more than 20 million kilowatt hours of electric power.
