650 kW California Project Completed Using GameChange Roof System

GameChange Racking has announced the completion of a 650 KW project in Northern California that utilized the GameChange Roof System. The customer was CED Chico and the installer was Elite Solar.

Elite Solar Owner Kirk Short and Construction Manager Dan Ritzert first encountered the GameChange Roof System at the 2013 InterSolar Conference. Both Mr. Short and Mr. Ritzert were immediately impressed with the simple design and value for money that the system offered and this led to the project with CED Chico.

Craig Cardoza, Outside Sales Representative for CED Chico was quoted: “GameChange’s Ballasted Roof System was a great fit for my contractor. With no roof penetrations, quick install time and competitive per watt cost, this system worked great on this project.”

Features of the GC Roof System:

  • Just two snap-together components
  • Aluminum and stainless steel components; 5, 10 and 15° tilt options
  • 55 psf ground snow load rated
  • Wind deflectors reduce ballast, typical loading 2.2 - 3.9 psf
  • Wind tunnel tested and rated for 120 mph wind speed
  • Integrated grounding and wire management
  • Three men install 200 panels, racks and ballast per day: 1000 per week
  • Fastest install time - 50% less than competitors
  • Price starts from $.129/watt

Teresa Zhao, Director of Sales at GameChange Racking, was quoted: "It is exciting for GameChange to have entered the California solar market with this 650 KW Roof System order. The Roof System has only two major components making the installation process straightforward and fast, and excellent integrated wire management. We are consistently exceeding our customers' expectations in terms of installation time and total racking system cost and we are confident that this order is just the beginning in terms of our expansion into the Californian solar market."
