California Remains Number 1 in the US Solar Industry

With around a gigawatt of newly installed capacity, the U.S. state of California was last year's leader in the U.S. solar industry. The sunshine state will continue to play a leading role – not least because of numerous technological innovations that originate here. However, it is vital for any companies that want to engage in the Californian market to be active locally. The "Inverter and PV System Technology Forum - USA 2012" conference, taking place on 27 and 28 February 2012 in San Francisco offers an ideal opportunity for discussion and forging new contacts.

Leading experts will be discussing the growing importance of the electrical components and their contribution to the trouble-free functioning and profitability of PV systems over the long term. San Francisco was chosen as venue partly because the city has set the goal of a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2020 while investing in an expansion of renewable energies at the same time. A 33% growth in renewables by 2020 is planned.

Topics under discussion at the conference will be the interaction of the electrical components of the PV system, optimizing output, certification, energy storage, smart power grid-networks, network integration and infrastructure, as well as the next generation of inverters. The discussions over cost reduction and technical optimizations for photovoltaics include speakers from the California Energy Commission, the California Solar Energy Industries Association (CalSEIA) and representatives from Enphase Energy, Gestamp, PG&E, Power-One, PV Evolution Labs, Siemens and UL. Highlights of the event will be broadcast by the official media partner SolarPV.TV.

The conference, organized by Solarpraxis, is aimed at project developers, component manufacturers, energy utilities and gird-network operators, designers, investors, representatives from the semiconductor and electronics industries as well as those from politics, the media and industry associations.

The "Inverter and PV System Technology Forum - USA 2012" will be held at the Hyatt Regency, San Francisco Airport and around 150-200 participants from all over the world are expected to attend. The conference language will be English.
